This class prepares children for the academic world, whether planning to enter Kindergarten or 1st Grade* in the following year. While continuing to honor learning through play, this class helps children learn to tend to tasks longer and practice self-regulation skills through work in independent, small group, and whole group activities. The academic curriculum provides a solid foundation for literacy, math, social studies and science while the arts and French language are integrated into all aspects of the day. Lessons are guided by student curiosity and inquiry. Children are encouraged to be creative, try new things, and celebrate both successes and mistakes as equally important parts of the learning process. Children graduate from this class as confident, resilient, curious and creative lifelong learners. Children attend a weekly Music class and Chapel Time, as well as a twice a week French Immersion Art class.

About Us

Our Mission

The mission of Trinity Preschool is to cultivate a collaborative community of families and teachers to provide a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for young children to develop physical, emotional, cognitive, creative, and social skills through play-based and discovery-led learning.

Our Vision

At Trinity Preschool, we believe that every child is a unique and special individual with unique and special abilities and needs. We believe that every child can experience the joy of learning, and such, we strive to develop active, independent and curious learners, who are ready to enter the academic world when they graduate from our program.

Our Philosophy

Trinity Preschool offers a high-quality Early Childhood Education Program (curriculum). Teachers are carefully chosen for their love and compassion for all children, as well as their knowledge of child development and instructional skills. Teachers nurture and celebrate each child’s individual gifts and interests, while also lovingly encouraging children to develop other skills sets and interests. Teachers use positive techniques, based on Conscious Discipline, to develop emotional, social, and self-efficacy skills. Each day is filled with opportunity and hands-on experiences, from French language immersion to art to cooking, from science investigations to storytelling, from music and movement to letters and numbers, from puzzles to pretend play, and blocks to books and beyond! At Trinity, we strive to engage each child’s sense of wonder and prepare them to utilize it for growth and life-long learning.

Our Ministry

Trinity Preschool operates as an outreach ministry of Trinity United Methodist Church. It is open to teachers and children of all faith backgrounds. There is a weekly chapel time during which the pastors share age-appropriate Bible stories. Children also learn to say a blessing before mealtimes and learn the act of praying for guidance and for others. Teachers are encouraged to extend love and acceptance to all children by being faithful stewards of their education and celebrating their individual backgrounds.

Testimonials

"What makes Trinity Preschool of McLean special is their focus on exploration and free learning. They go above and beyond by using natural materials throughout the classrooms and even outdoors. This creates a dynamic space that changes with the seasons, themes, and holidays, keeping the kids constantly curious and connected to the world around them. But what truly sets Trinity apart are the teachers. They have a good skill for making learning fun and engaging through everyday interactions with classmates. For example, they use the children's names to teach the alphabet – it's clever and effective! This not only helps with letter recognition, but it also builds strong friendships, making learning feel like an adventure, not a chore. The care and love from the teachers and staff are truly outstanding. I can hear it in my daughter's voice when she talks about her friends and teachers at Trinity. Her imaginative play at home is all about recreating the school environment – a true sign of the positive experiences she has there.

There's just so much to love about Trinity! I never thought my child would be so excited to head off to school each day, but Trinity has blown me away."

Yejin Kim, Current TPoM Parent

"Over the years, Trinity Preschool of McLean has become an extension of our home and a key part of our village. Our daughters have grown in leaps and bounds because of feeling safe, loved, and seen every day in a joyful and curricularly rich environment. We are so thankful for the teachers' warm hugs at drop-off, the friendships created, the class photo albums that show learning in action, the imaginative assembly performances, the French immersion component, the children's vibrant art portfolios, the aftercare community - the list could go on. Most importantly, the teachers' devotion to early childhood education show not only in their lessons, but also in the kindness they demonstrate in every interaction. "

"The staff at Trinity Preschool of McLean are a treasure. As a parent, I could not be more confident that my child is getting exactly the kind of care, structure and attention that meets her specific needs. She has truly thrived in her time at TPoM, and we are grateful to have discovered the community that comes with it."

Brenna Lundstrom, Current TPoM Parent

"When looking at preschools for my twins, my first reaction to Trinity Preschool of McLean was how warm and welcoming they were. It was important to me that my kids feel safe, nurtured and stimulated and Trinity checked those boxes and more. My twins are now in their final year at Trinity and they have cherished their time there. Reflecting back, I can clearly see how much thought has been placed into each activity they do. From developing fine motor and language skills to now learning science, music, art and French, learning is made fun. My children are not only ready for kindergarten, they are excited to learn. Without hesitation, I would recommend Trinity Preschool to anyone considering preschool for their child."
